Track Field B is our articificial turf field. Lined for both soccer and football, this field is also used for numerous other activities such as ultimate frisbee and flag football. Bleacher seating for approximately 160 people is available.

Softball Diamonds

Through support of the Graduate Student Association (GSA), the softball diamonds are open from May until the end of November. Home to the GSA Softball League, Phoenix Cup tournament and Intramural games, the fields are also available for community group rentals. The John Harvey Field (Diamond 1), Jim Greenlee Field (Diamond 2) and Mary Keyes Field (Diamond 3) are all named after supporters who helped to bring the diamonds to fruition on the lower end of campus. Members of the GSA and Facility Services help maintain the diamonds to ensure the best possible playing conditions.

Diamond 3 is equipped with LED lighting for night use (additional rates apply on field rentals at night).

Ron Joyce Stadium

Ron Joyce Stadium features Les Prince Field, is a full size, Canadian football and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) sized soccer pitch. It is home to both McMaster Football, Soccer and Women’s Rugby.

The stadium features 5,500 permanent seats and options for temporary seating for National Events. An underground parking garage is below the stadium grounds that will serve visitors to the stadium plus daily campus parking needs. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League also use the stadium for training during the spring and summer.

The stadium features a large press box with facilities for live TV and radio broadcasts, as well as working areas for print media, game operations staff, as well as home and visiting team coaches and spotters. The press box level includes seven separately enclosed operations, broadcast and technical booths as well as a 24 seat open concept viewing area. The press box also has controls for the scoreboard, sound system, and large video board.

The participant level of the stadium features dressing rooms for the visiting teams and game officials, as well as more luxurious dressing room facilities for Marauder football, soccer, and rugby teams. There is also a satellite sports medicine clinic for players to receive taping and treatments. Multi-purpose rooms are also used for video review of game tape.

The Fitzhenry Studios in the connecting David Braley Athletic Centre, overlook the stadium and can be used for entertaining during events held in the stadium.

Mona Campbell Outdoor Track

Through a Donation from Mona Campbell, the outdoor track opened in the Fall of 2012. The outdoor track is as a full 400 metre track and features 8 lanes and a steeple chase pit. It is the training facility for the Marauders Track team as well as local clubs and athletes. The Mona Campbell track is available to all students and members to train for their next big race, jog for fitness or just to have a relaxing walk. With the addition of the Outdoor Fitness Area on the North end of the track, you can meet almost all your fitness needs in one location.

Alumni Field

McMaster University’s artificial soft surface Alumni Field began serving the McMaster and surrounding community in 2006.

The development of the field was made possible through a generous donation from the McMaster Alumni Association. With over 125,000 alumni living in 125 countries, the McMaster Alumni Association holds the mission of supporting McMaster University, involving alumni and current students, recognizing alumni achievements, communicating with and providing services and benefits for alumni.

The venue is available for rent to community partners, and provides another venue to support the City of Hamilton sport tourism strategy.

Formerly known as the Intramural Field, Alumni Field is located behind the Smith gymnasium in the Ivor Wynne Centre on the McMaster University Main Campus. The field is a competitive venue for McMaster lacrosse and field hockey, intramural and club programs and a practice venue for McMaster football and soccer. A wireless score clock is affixed to the north Ivor Wynne Centre wall.

10 Acre Field

10 Acre Field hosts three natural grass fields and is attached to some of the trails that lead into the Royal Botanical Gardens and Cootes Paradise properties. Rugby, intramurals, drop-in soccer and ultimate frisbee, rentals, and other activites are welcome on 10 Acre Field. The field is closed from the end of November through May (weather permitting).
